Shoreline is made by Alcyonite. This policy covers the Shoreline app for Mac and this website.

The short version

Shoreline doesn't collect any information about you. Your audio stays on your Mac.

Your audio

Everything Shoreline does to your recordings happens on your own Mac. The files you open are read from your Mac, and the masters you export are saved where you choose. Your audio is never uploaded, shared, or sent to us or to anyone else.

Shoreline itself never connects to the internet. The only time your Mac contacts anyone on Shoreline's behalf is when you buy or restore the Export purchase, which goes through Apple's App Store.

Information we collect

None. Shoreline has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We don't collect usage data, device identifiers, or crash reports.

Shoreline remembers a few of your choices on your Mac (for example, whether you last used General or Voice mode). These stay on your Mac and are never sent anywhere.

Apple

You download Shoreline from the Mac App Store, which Apple runs. Apple handles the download and the optional purchase that unlocks exporting; we never see your payment details, and Apple's own privacy policy covers them. If you've chosen to share crash reports and app analytics with developers in your Mac's settings, Apple may share anonymous reports with us. You can change this at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics, and no tracking. Like any website, the service that hosts it (Cloudflare) processes basic technical information such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect against abuse. We don't use this information to identify you.

Children

Shoreline doesn't collect any information from anyone, including children.
